Who We Are

StrideUp is operated by Ashvin Manoj (“we”, “us”). StrideUp is a running companion for high school athletes and coaches with training logs, sleep tracking, an AI coach, recovery education, gait analysis, a sneaker locker, and team features. This policy explains what we collect, how it is used and shared, and how you can delete it.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address, password (stored hashed by our sign-in provider), account type (athlete or coach), and confirmation that you accepted our Terms and are at least 13. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them.
  • Date of birth: you enter your full date of birth at sign-up only to confirm you are 13 or older. We do not store the date itself, only that you confirmed your age.
  • Athlete profile: name, grade, discipline, primary event, personal record and goal times, race date, training days per week, preferred training time, and weekly mileage goal.
  • Coach profile: display name, school, team name, sport, coaching focus, experience, and optional organization email.
  • Training logs: date, distance, duration, pace, workout type, how it felt, heart rate, interval details, and notes. Rest days are logged too. We also store planned workouts you schedule.
  • Sleep entries: date, hours, quality, bedtime, wake time, and notes.
  • Game and progress data: XP, level, streaks, achievements, loot boxes, and sneakers you collect.
  • AI coach and pain check-ins: messages you send and the training information needed to answer them are sent to an AI service to produce a response. Pain check-in answers you enter are sent the same way. This is educational guidance, not medical advice.
  • Gait analysis: the video is analyzed on your device and is not uploaded or stored by us. If you choose to save a result, we store the measurements, insights, and notes (not the video).
  • Team data: the team you join (name, school, coach name), your name on its roster, and workouts your coach assigns.
  • Messages to support: the name, email, topic, and message you send through the contact form.
  • Usage analytics: basic app usage events and error information used to keep the app working. We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How We Use Your Information

  • Run the app: your logs, progress, streaks, levels, achievements, and rewards.
  • Generate AI coaching and recovery guidance.
  • Operate teams, rosters, assignments, and leaderboards.
  • Send service emails such as verification codes and support replies.
  • Respond to support requests and keep the app secure and reliable.

Who Can See Your Information

  • We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Coaches: if you join a coach’s team with its invite code, that coach can see your name on the roster, whether you logged a run today, and your recent run log (about your latest 30 entries: date, distance, duration, pace, workout type, feel, heart rate, and notes). Coaches cannot see your sleep entries, saved gait analyses, AI chats, or pain check-ins. You can leave a team at any time in the Team tab, which ends the coach’s access.
  • Leaderboards: other StrideUp users can see your name, grade, team, and weekly mileage on leaderboards. Athletes can turn on “Be anonymous” in the leaderboard to appear as “Anonymous Athlete” instead. Other users cannot see your individual runs.
  • Service providers: we use cloud hosting, a sign-in provider, email delivery, and an AI service to run the app. They process data only to provide those services to us.
  • We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Storage and Security

Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure and sent over encrypted connections. Access rules keep each user’s records private apart from the sharing described above. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in-app at any time: athletes go to Settings (gear icon) → Delete account; coaches go to Coach Profile → Delete account. Deletion permanently erases your profile, training and sleep logs, planned workouts, achievements, locker and loot boxes, saved gait analyses, and team membership, and removes your sign-in. For coaches it also erases your team, roster, and assignments. This cannot be undone.

Support messages may be kept for a short time to resolve your request. To request deletion another way, contact us below.

Children and Teens

StrideUp is not for children under 13. Sign-up requires a full date of birth, and accounts for people under 13 are blocked. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Teens 13–17 are our main audience. Their information is never sold or used for advertising, and there are no public profiles or direct messaging between users. Teens’ names, grade, and weekly mileage appear on leaderboards, and a coach can see the logs of athletes on the coach’s team. Teens should review this policy with a parent or guardian, and parents may contact us to review or delete a teen’s data.

Your Choices and Rights

  • View and update your profile in Settings.
  • Leave a team or delete your account at any time.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct or delete it.
  • Residents of some regions have additional rights under local law; contact us to exercise them.

Health and AI Disclaimer

StrideUp is not a medical device. Recovery content, pain check-ins, gait analysis, and AI coaching are educational only. See a qualified professional for pain, injury, or health concerns.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify users in the app.
